well, I am Slow Magic just kidding.

it's a copyrighted song. I'm having problems not using and getting inspired by music I really like. but the artist is not on one of those old gigantic fossil record companies still alive from the 80's. I did some research and I've seen others using that song for other kind of montages without issues. and Slow Magic deserves more exposure. hell, I've already gotten 2-3 comments on reddit/ps universe where people are happy that they discovered this artist. I think it's all good in that sense =)

 

From what I've heard about copyright music, most artists are satisfied with being mentioned in the credits (possibly with a link to their site)

 

yeah, most copyrighted songs are detected within minutes after the video is uploaded. but I've recently contacted some smaller labels which release music I enjoy and they've actually given it a go as long as you give credit and don't claim that it's fair use of their music (because of course it isn't), and that's fine with me. I don't have a plan to make money off of my videos, so the small amount of money the views generate goes to the record company and I would say that it's not a bad deal for both label and artist, or myself for that matter
