Hey everyone, Since the introduction of forums for games such as Warframe and Minecraft we've seen a number of players start playing these games almost exclusively, and we've noticed quite a bit of recruitment potential in Warframe. So basically what we want to do is make it so that Trident is not just a "Planetside 2 Outfit" but a "community which plays many different games together" To that end the Council held a meeting yesterday to decide what changes we would make and we managed to get quite a bit talked through and decided on a number of key things. The first thing we discussed was our name, originally we planned to go with "Trident Gaming" but we noticed that this name is actually already used by another gaming community. So we decided to instead keep to our PS2 roots and call ourselves "[the] Trident Outfit". We've registered the domain tridentoutfit.com and we'll be moving to it soon. The next thing we decided to change is the ranking structure. The forum ranks are going to be separated from ingame. The first and most important rank you will hold is your "Trident Rank" and this will be the rank on the forums. The new structure for members will be Lieutenant, Sergeant and Private. When you join you will start at Private. The current promotion suggestions interface will be used to choose people for a promotion to Sergeant and then to Lieutenant. Sergeants will be loyal members who are active on Mumble, the forums and play games with us frequently. Lieutenants will be the handful of super loyal, super active members who play games with us constantly. The current Sergeants and Troop Commanders will both become Sergeants under the new system, and Troopers will become Privates. We are also going to change our PS2 ingame ranks to Platoon Leader, Squad Leader and Trooper (like the good ol' days if anyone remembers them). These ranks will be chosen informally on the spot by Judge, there will NOT be a formal promotion suggestions area for ingame promotions anymore. The third and main thing we are doing is introducing the idea of "game divisions". Each game we play which has an active community will become an official game division and Trident subsidiary. Each division will either be managed by the council or by an officer-in-charge (Tron will be the Officer-in-Charge for the Warframe Division. Each division will have its own forum section with a Discussion forum, and if needed, additional forums may be created inside the section. Only members of a division will be able to access its forums. Joining or leaving a division will be as simply as visiting a Divisions page and clicking Join/Leave beside a division. Anyone will be able to join Trident by simply signing up on the forums and then joining a division. Once you join your first division you become a Trident member and if you leave all divisions you will no longer be a Trident member. I read this too late, sty. Does this mean there won't be promotions anymore, instead Judge decides who is going to become SL/PL? (Talking about ps2)
actually, opinion, why can't we have same promotion system on ps2 as it is now? it will be lot of work to judge to promote people. and judge isn't that often online that he can see all who are worthy. or do we have to PM judge for possible promotion? I bet you,jack, can do your magic trick and put there tabs like promotions for ps2, warframe, ect. each game could have guys who has rights to go read that certain section and decide for promotion. like in ps2 keep as it is, add to warframe suggestion system as we already has but put tron resposible for that section. and certain ranked people can suggest new promotions.
For PS2 promotions, I think my PL/SL Lineup will suit perfectly. It'll let judge see who is active on the forum and who will be suitable for the promotion
This was considered and is not completely off the table, but at least to start with we'll b going with informal promotions.
ps2 promotion shouldn't be of activity of forum. it should be as it has been. Activity in ps2, activity of squad leading or platoon leading.
