Greetings Tridentians! As you may, or may not (shame on you) know, the 2 year anniversary of Trident's inception is quickly approaching. This will be a great day that will be celebrated accordingly, with multiple planned events and hopefully some contests and prizes going along with it. This is where Trident needs your help! While Trident's coffers are sufficient to keep up with the costs of servers and domains for the foreseeable future we are not strapped with cash. Unfortunately our Trident Membership plans were never implemented for some reason! So to have any prizes to give away during the event we will have to source them from elsewhere, namely you guys! So how can I help you ask? There are many ways for you to donate things that can be used as prizes. The idea will be that we gather a pool of prizes and then assign them to one of the many (details tbd) events we will be holding during our anniversary celebration. The by far easiest way to contribute is to gift a steam key to the newly created tridentcouncil steam account. This will act as a storage of various steam keys until the prizes have been given out. Simply buy a new game, or select something from your steam inventory and gift it to ultimatox.gaming@gmail.com, or add tridentcouncil to your friends list on steam and send it there directly. If you are unsure of how to gift a steam game see here. After you have done that please send me a pm on the forums saying what you have donated (steam names can be hard to keep track of), whether you want your gift to be anonymous or credited to you once it is given out and finally which game/division you prefer your gift will be used for as a prize. We can't promise that a gift will be used exactly as and when you hope, but we will try our best. In the case where a gift is not used as a prize during the 2014 anniversary event, it will be held in storage for future events. ultimatox, speaking for the Trident Council
Since I'll buy the complete edition for Civ 5, is there any way to give away the vanilla version of that game? I already own that one, so wouldn't need the 2nd one from the bundle.
depends ... sometimes you'll be able to give it away - sometimes not. It should tell you before you buy it.
Generally speaking you can't give away extra copies of games bought on Steam (unless part of 4 packs etc.), there are a few specific exceptions but they would explicitly tell you that you can gift the copy.
