Could you guys also share your graphic setting/fps information (in PS2). At least it would provide people considering a new gaming rig (like me) a starting point on "what is enough hardware".
I'd have guessed that. Anyway, what I meant is that I don't think I will put together "top of the line" build, and would be interested to know what kind of fps you get with "lesser" builds. Currently I am playing with a 3-4 year old Vaio, and on 1280x800 potatomode I rarely can perform the wall jumps, because fps drops to 30-40 in fights. So anything is going to be upgrade right now. But because I have also a "million" other things to sink money into, I won't be going for the "top of the line" 3k€ build, but something muuuuuch less. Edit: I was for example looking at a used rig with i5-4670K and Gigabyte GeForce GTX 680 OC 2GB GDDR5. I have no idea what to expect from this kind of setup. I'd be happy to play 1920x1024 @ stable 60 fps, even with non-max graphics settings.
That 680 is still a very powerful card, and the i5 4670k should give you about 80 fps in larger fights and 50 in the largest zergs. I have an i5 4690k which I overclocked to 4.5 Ghz and it is a complete beast. But what else do you get with that rig
ASUS Z87-K LGA1150 Intel Z87 motherboard, 8GB RAM @ 1600MHz, 600W power and a small (120GB) SSD. Not sure if the cooler or the case affect performance anyway, so not listing them. I'd need to get a monitor and a HD (that 120GB will run out of space in no time) also. Edit: I stopped following hardware about 20 years ago, so forgive me for being un-enlightened in these things.
Since it is a k series cpu, the cooler actually matters since overclocking it will give you some serious extra performance. This cpu is also a haswell series one, which had some heat issues, so investing in a good cooler is worth it.
Intel 4790K CPU, liquid cooled. MSI Gaming 5 MOBO. Gigabyte Windforce GTX970 OC edition 16GB 2400 Ram 2 x 250GB 850 pro SSD 1TB WD blue HDD 650W Corsair RM PSU K70 keyboard, corsair mouse, XB270H G-sync monitor, K242HL monitor
So in order to revive this (again) I have a question. I currently have Intel i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz and I think thats the reason I can't play the game. Any suggestions for a non wallet-killing options in order to play at least decently (Without lagging every 2-3 minutes in 24+ fights)?
i have a 2 years old i5 4690 non k with mainboard and 8 gig ram lying around, you can have it if you want. but i accidentally bend a capacitor a bit, the mainboard should still be good though.
